UNDER 12 MATCH REPORT ROUND 3 2011

We started well by winning the toss of the coin but Coldstream showed more determination and were first to the Footy. For the first time this season we actually had one player on the bench so after gutsing it out the last two weeks with low numbers there was the luxury of starting on a level playing field. I think this may have been in our minds too much as we just wouldn’t put our head over the footy and win the hard ball.

Our third quarter was our best by far on the day and Sam kicked a couple and was proving a handful to the opposition but unfortunately we couldn’t keep the momentum going into the last quarter and ended up going down by near on six goals.

I would like to thank the Under 10’s in Flynn, Max and Chris for helping us out on the day and to also welcome the new boys to the club in Matthew and Cody and also a belated welcome to Charlie Lennox who decided to stay on after filling in last week! Well done!

As we know there is a week off for Easter and we will only train on Tuesday this week so lets put in hard on the track and enjoy Easter and the rest of the school holidays!

Round 3 v Scoresby

Q1: It was a very warm day and playing on the senior oval we knew it was going to be a tough day. We started a little slow and Scoresby were leading the way by being first in for the ball. They jumped us early and got out to a 2 goal lead. To the guys credit they started to lift their work rate and made up some ground late in the quarter.  We were down.    Bayswater 2.1.13 - Scoresby 3.1.19

Q2: I asked the players to make sure we started to get first in and not stand back and we could turn around this game by doing so. We worked hard and but struggled to capitalise on the amount of ball we had kicking 1 goal to zip.

Bayswater 3.2.20 - Scoresby 3.1.19

Q3: We came out in the second half keen to get the score on the board and not to waste our chances. Again we out played Scoresby with our running and team work and you could see both teams were getting tired playing in the heat and on the big ground. We didn’t make the most of it but we added another 2 goals to 1.

Bayswater 5.5.35 - Scoresby 4.2.26

Q4: The last quarter Scoresby started to get on top and we were running on empty as they kept pushing forward and holding it in their forward line. Thanks to a great quarter from our backline we hung on to win by 3 points.

Bayswater 5.6.36 defeated Scoresby 5.3.33
