Bayswater V Glen Waverly Hawks
Today we played Glen Waverley Hawks at home and right from the first bounce the guys ran hard, tackled and looked for each other. Setting up the first three goals and that set the pace of the game, with the backman playing tight the fowards leading and the midfield getting the ball out of the centre we were well up at half time. In the last half the guys played some outstanding football with some great marks and the team play was excellent.
GUYS WELL DONE ON A GREAT TEAM GAME

Bayswater V Mooroolbark
Nice to be back at our home ground for the first time this year, unfortunately we didn't finish with a win and were beaten by a better team on the day.
With a good first quarter from both teams it was clear that Mooroolbark had come to play, from the second quarter onwards our team forgot all the basics of footy and lacked intensity and we left it up to too few players to do the hard work.
I know that the kids will learn from this game and we will bounce back - it takes 18 players to win
Best players - Adam Gleeson, Jake Mylonas & Tristan Smith

Bayswater v Heathmont
Today we played Heathmont at home. With the weather gods on our side, a perfect footy day was ahead of us.
The First quarter the boys started well, with the ball in our forward line for most of the Qtr, we weren’t able to show it on the scoreboard due to the pressure Heathmont applied.
We only scored 1 goal 4 behinds to Heathmonts 2 goals 2 behinds.
The Second quarter was much like the first with Baysie having most of the play, the boys where applying tremendous pressure on Heathmont with great tackling. Once again our inaccurate kicking and ball movement in the forward line meant we only kicked 4 points to Heathmonts 1 goal.
At half time I told the boys to keep working hard and applying lots of pressure which the boys did well in the Third quarter and they managed another 1 goal 1 point to Heathmonts 3 goals 1 point. This put us 18 points down going in to the last quarter.
The Fourth quarter the boys played fantastic with great pressure and ball movement meant they were able to put another 2 goals 2 points to Heathmonts 3 points. Unfortunately the siren went with the ball in our forward line and we only went down by 7 points in the end
Final Score
Bayswater 4-11-35 def by Heathmont 6-6-42

Bayswater V North Ringwood
With our first game under our belt we took on North Ringwood at home the match was reasonably even throughout the day but at the end of each quarter they just seemed to find a goal from a lucky bounce of the ball in their forward line.
We worked hard in the centre of the ground on some of the plays we had been practicing that were starting to pay off.
The forward line were functioning well with players moving, leading and taking strong marks up forward, Howdy and Mitchell were on fire keeping us within striking distance. The backline were stead fast sending the ball back to our midfield to deliver the ball to our forwards.
Lots of fantastic links ups from one end of the ground to the other and then resulting in us scoring freely.
Our last quarter was great with us attacking the goals at any opportunity but North Ringwood were able to steady which gave them the win.
Even though we made our biggest score for quite a while we still couldn’t get over North Ringwood on the day. A great effort and display of great team play by Bayswater under 15’s.
12 .10.82 to Nth Ringwood 14.16.100
Goals; - Howdy 3, Mitchell 3, Adam 2 , Aaron 1, Josh Guy 1 , Peter 1, Riley 1

WANTIRNA STH V BAYSWATER
Today we played our second away match at Wanny Sth. The ground was one of the worst we have played on and was huge for a junior oval.
We started slow and lifeless but went into the 2nd quarter with a two point lead. In the 2nd quarter we didn’t respond well and were caught flat footed. Wanny Sth outscored us and we went into the rooms at half time two goals down.
We went into the 3rd quarter a bit harder and started to get our running game going. Heading into the last we were up by two points.
Wanny Sth had the scoring end in the final quarter but we were confident that all our hard work over the pre-season would get us over the line. It was a tough last quarter and the final siren had us scraping in by nine points.
Special mention to J-Rod who rucked all day and was impressive around the ground as well.
And to Grubby who goaled on the run from the boundary with a ‘check side’ snap…. ‘STOP IT!!’
Wantirna Sth 7.7.49 def by Bayswater 8.10.58
Best: Grubby, J-Rod, Thorney, Cam, Macca, Tinman
Goals: Grubby 3, Dale 1, Liam B 1, Mitch T 1, Damo 1 and Rappa 1
