Bayswater V Donvale
The under 11's were at home last week to take on the previously unbeaten Donvale.
The boys were keen to play well after last weeks game where they weren't happy with their efforst plus they wanted to stay undefeated themselves.
For the 4th bame in a row we mixed up the captaincy and won the toss.
The first 1/4 was a tight one as neither team could gain control and with the size of the Donvale boys our boys or guys seemed a little hesitant at the start, but all that changed when the worked out hte bigger they are the harder they fall. The under 11's may not be the most skillful but they go for the ball as hard as any other team I have seen. It was fantastic to see little Jordy kick his first goal, it was even better to see him kick his second for the 1/4.
The boys wored very hard for their 1/4 time lead and knew the second 1/2 was going to be harder as donvale had the wind.
The 2/4 was sensational as the boys, whilst only scoring a point themselves, kept Donvale to 3 points, every single player was fantastic and proved that a tough little side we are, so we went into 1/2 time with a 20 point lead.
The 3/4 was all Bayswater and the boys continued to attack the ball and if th eman was in the way then that was bad luck, this was seen as 2 of their boys left he feidl through very hard but fair tackles and by 3/4 time the lead had blown out to 36 points.
The boys did not sotp and in the last 1/4, and it seemed onl luck that Donvale kicked their only goal with about 2 minutes go go in the match whilst we kicked another couple of goals into the wind.
I must add that number 8 for Donvale played a great game and if not fo him the score may have been a little higher.
We ended up 40 point winners and all 20 players, played very well.
Coach: Nick.

Round 4 Bayswater v Coldstream
Today we played Coldstream at their home ground, with Coldstream on top off the ladder and unbeaten so far we knew it was going to be a tough game on their big home ground.
First quarter Coldstream came out and totally dominated the centre clearances, with their 4 interleague players really firing, they were able to score 8 goals 3 points to our 1 goal 2 points. We very quickly knew it was going to be a tuff day.
The Second quarter was much like the 1st with Coldstream kicking another 7 goals 6 points to our nothing.
At half time I told the boys that they needed to apply more pressure and work harder to get to the contest.
The Third quarter the boys came out and really took it up to them, with great pressure and a lot better ball movement, we were able to slow Coldstream’s run and keep them to only 3 goals 1 point to our 1 goal 1 point for the quarter.
The Fourth quarter the boys came out and played really good footy in a game where they could of put their heads down and given up. To their credit the boys NEVER gave up and played their best quarter of footy for the game and were rewarded with 4 goals, 1 point.
Very proud of the way the Team finished of the game with a strong last quarter against a very tough opposition. Well Done!

Mooroolbark Vs Bayswater at Mooroolbark.
Mooroolbark were in fine form leading up this game and we knew it would take something special to keep up with them throughout the game.
The first quarter they blew us out of the water with 8 goals , strong running play and a good forward set up that left us in its wake.
We found it hard to get the ball past our half forward line which limited the scoring opportunities, even though Adam and Braden were getting plenty of the ball. Riley was putting his body on the line and Shayne stood up to play a more aggressive role both in the backline and in the ruck along with Jackson Z they both battled all day.
Kane Roberts was brought into the mid field which produced instant results with a great game by Kane and that now gives us another midfielder to rely on in the coming weeks.
At three quarter time we concentrated on getting our score to look a bit better and to the credit of the boys we were able to triple our score and very nearly get another one. A hard day at the hands of Mooroolbark we had, but again there are still some positives of how we moved the ball against a strong opposition.
Mooroolbark 22.19.151 def Bayswater 3.1.19
Goals:- Adam 2, Riley 1 (nearly 2)

BAYSWATER V STH CROYDON
We again played at home today versing South Croydon who we have never met in junior football. At the first bounce our midfield set the example with some hard running and great team play and we soon had our first two goals on the board with Cam running down the ground and kicking truly. We produced a comfortable lead in both quarters of the first half but with about 7 minutes left we seemed to let South get back in the game with late goals. The game should have been all over by half time but some inaccurate kicking (9 behinds) had us leading by less than 5 goals.
The boys knew this game wasn’t over and came out firing with a 6 goal to 1 third quarter and after some changes to the line up we ran out very comfortable winners.
We have some big games ahead of us in the next few weeks so we must remain focused and be mentally and physically ready for the challenges ahead!
Remember we have UNFINISHED BUSINESS!!!
