Rowville V Bayswater
We knew today would be a test as rowville had not lost a game as well as we had not, right from the start it was a hard fought game.the team effort from all the team was out standing, the back line played tight and at times picking up extra players holding rowville to no score to our two goals two behinds in the first half. in the third quarter rowville threw everything at us kicking four behinds then our guys liftered and i beleive every player had a hand in the next goal which made me a vary proud coach. from there we ran away to a win that i rate as one of the best team wins we have had.
WELL DONE GUYS

Kilsyth V Bayswater
The under 11s ventured to Kilsyth for round 5 in what proved to be a very physical match from the Kilsyth boys and not helped by the umpiring who let a lot of swing tackles get ignored.
It was made all the more difficult when we were down to 18 players before the match started due to Anthony injuring his knee at school and Daniel being sick with a stomach bug, the good news is both boys are ok and we should have them back in the coming weeks.
Kilsyth kicked the first goal of the game and you could sense it early that Kilsyth were going to do everything in their power to make it a physical game and to our boys credit they played footy and at ¼ time we were up by 15 points.
The 2nd quarter started the same as the first but this time the Kilsyth parents decided to get involved by having a go at under 11 boys and once again our kids played football and took everything that Kilsyth and the parents would throw at them and at half time we were up by 4 goals, with everyone contributing.
The 3rd quarter belonged to Bayswater as we continually pushed forward and held them at bay and the boys tackling and commitment at the ball was outstanding. There was not one Bayswater footballer who didn’t give his all and it was great to see Jamie get his first goal after having a hard time from the crowd in the 2nd quarter. At 3 quarter time the game was over with us having a 40 point lead.
The 4th quarter saw our boys start to go kick chasing as it seemed everyone wanted to kick a goal and if we were playing a good side then it could have been costly but they had weathered the storm and played good football for 3 quarters so having a good run around in the last was not going to hurt anyone. We ended up winning by 7 goals which means we remain unbeaten although we have a huge test next round against the 3rd placed Knox/Lysterfield.
Best players: Taylor, Kane, Riley, James and Thomas (our captain for the day)

Bayswater v Vermont
Today we played Vermont at home. The day started with Jeremie Manning and Daniel Thomas running through their 50 game banners, well done boys.
The First qtr was very even with both sides applying reasonable pressure and going goal for goal with Vermont who we had never played before. Bayswater 3-5 to Vermont’s 4-3.
The Second Quarter the midfield started to win the centre clearances and deliver the ball to our forwards for most of the quarter, unfortunately we were not able to capitalize and only managed 1-6 to Vermont’s 1-3 putting us 1 point down at half time.
At half time I told the boys that we had to stick to our game plan and keep the forward line open to give our forwards more chance at goals.
The Third quarter the boys responded beautifully with a big lift in pressure and running.
This resulted with 4-2 to Vermont’s 3-1 putting us 1 goal up going into the last quarter.
This was turning out to be a very close game with Vermont playing some good football.
I told the boys that we really needed a big last quarter from everyone if we were going to come away with a win.
The Team responded well in the last quarter with all the Team giving 100% and finishing of the game in great style kicking 4-6 to Vermont’s 2-1 to come away with our second win for the season. Well done Team.

Not the start we were looking for Norwood kicked 6 quick goals and we looked all out of sorts with our midfield being out played and their Centre Half forward playing like Reiwoldt. We put Jackson Bragg onto him to try and quieten him down and Jackson did a god job along with Sam Drummond now in the midfield who picked up plenty of possessions. We struggled to get the ball forward with much effectiveness and again we crowded up the scoring areas and Norwood were able to clear the ball. Although we worked hard in patches we had too many players not on their game which resulted in us being convincingly beaten. As a team we need to be prepared to go hard at the ball, punch the ball from behind and run through the lines to get it up forward. Forwards keep it open leave some room to lead into and shepherd and give off to the best position not just have a ping at the goals under pressure. The backline was under siege and players like Beau and Andrew did a great job , we need to come out next week and attack the ball from the start and not give other teams a few goals start.
Overall a disappointing day
Final Score Bayswater 6 . 7 . 43 to Norwood 20 .17 .137

EAST BURWOOD V BAYSWATER
We versed East Burwood today on their home (senior) ground, which is in excellent condition and fairy large. After training on our own senior ground on Thursday night with John Hayhurst and Adam Simcocks it was great to play on an oval similar, although not in quite as good condition! We started the first quarter full of running and outplayed them on every line. At the first change we had a 17-point lead. The second quarter was much the same and we basically showed them we are a lot fitter and are prepared to run and work for each other. The end of the half could have been ugly as Rappa was elbowed and punched by a player who went on to narrowly miss Whitey with a raised elbow. It was great restraint and maturity you boys showed by leaving the situation and I am proud of you all for that! At half time we had a very nice 5-goal lead.
The second half started with East Burwood trying to intimidate us and had us a bit flat footed for the first 5 or so minutes but we again stood tall and managed 1 goal to their 2. Going into the last I asked the boys to prove their fitness by running it out on the big ground as we are hoping to play on the Bayswater senior oval in our last 3 matches so if we struggle on the big grounds we may as well play on the smaller junior oval. Everyone pushed hard and we powered home to a 51 point win with a 6 goal to 3 quarter. A great team effort boys!!
Remember we have UNFINISHED BUSINESS!!!
