BAYSWATER V WANTIRNA SOUTH

Today we hosted Wantirna South in possibly our last ever game at the junior oval! Wanny South started well but our ferociousness at the ball by the midfield had us getting the ball into attack. By half time we had a handy 34 to 15 points lead but knew we had to keep pushing as Wanny South would come at us.

In the third we really put our foot on the pedal and built up a winning lead of 40 points with a quarter left.

With some changes made going into the last, Wanny South showed their character and pushed us to our limits but we kept up enough pressure to win by 18 points in the end.

A good performance boys in tough, trying conditions. You all showed character by getting on with things when the rewards just weren’t forthcoming. I am not quite sure how, in these conditions that for a whole 3 quarters not one reward was given to the team obviously playing in front and having most of the footy, but you all did well to just get on with it!

Well you have now cemented a place in finals and also as promised a Pie night this week!
