BAYSWATER v WANTIRNA STH GREEN

In the first quarter we were slow to start and Wantirna jumped out of the blocks scoring a couple of goals early, but with great determination from our Half backline Kane, Beau and Peter we reduced their scoring opportunities. After a bit of a razz at quarter time we came out with a much better attitude with the mid field of Sam, Braden, Jackson and Josh Guy getting on top and driving it forward.  Wingers Jake and Christian were positioning themselves well to pick off kicks from the opposition and driving it forward giving Mitchell, Adam, Shayne and  Luke a chance to have a shot at goal. In the second half we continued to deliver the ball well to our forwards and with the help of Braden pushing forward we continued to score goals. Our full back line Longy, Sam Taualli and Matt were all over the opposition holding up Wantirna’s scoring opportunities. Josh Kazar was creating the wall and getting plenty of it as was Beau now up in the forward line.

 Kane continued to get everything that came near him and along with “Alfie”put pressure on with some great tackles and got lots of the footy and the mid field (Engine Room) moved the ball well with good running play to get it up forward to give us the best chance to get some more goals on the board.  Beau, Mitchell and Riley were on the move and with Braden again pushing forward the goals became easier to get. Jackson & Josh were soon dominating the tap outs clearing it to Adam , Sam Drummond and Braden while our backline led by Peter and Kane were fantastic creating run off our half backline.

 A deserving win today and in the slippery conditions a hard fought match involved every player on the field and its very pleasing that when put our body in and we are focussed on getting the ball we team together well for a victory.
